Product Description
Rare "P" series (manufactured for Private sale) Swiss K11 carbine is in very good condition with 92% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 5/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt non-matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. The receiver is an 1889 stile receiver, so it is possible that this was manufactured as a 00/11 model. There is scuffing on the left side of the stock, forward of the sling mount, caused by the sling button. Handling marks on the stock found near the comb. Includes muzzle cover and leather sling. A non-serialized model 1889/18 bayonet is also included, with scabbard and leather frog. Discreet import engraving.
Leather frog on back side is stamped with: "E.JENNI" "SATTLER" "LYSS" with year stamp of "41". Bayonet has some frost at the pommel and two spots of frosts on the blade edge.
The Karabiner Model 1911 (K11) is the shorter, lighter, carbine model of the Swiss 1911 rifle. It is a magazine fed, straight pull, bolt action rifle chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss Gewehrpatrone 1911 (GP11). Though the 1911 rifle ceased production in 1919, the K11 was produced through 1933 as the Swiss military realized the benefit of outfitting their service members with shorter, lighter, carbines.
