Product Description
Swiss model 1914 sawback bayonet, produced by Hans Steimer, Wasen im Emmental, with leather scabbard and frog.
Blade is in excellent condition. Blade is stamped 1931. Right side grip has heavy pressure marks. Pommel has light surface marks.
Scabbard has light gouging. Leather frog was made by A. Algroz of Combremont (Vaud) in 1954.
Bayonet was reissued; the original serial number was removed and stamped with a new serial number upside-down.
The 1914 Sawback Bayonet was not a widely issued bayonet, and was only issued to select troops. The serial number indicates that it was issued with a K11 Carbine produced in 1930.
