Model 1889 bayonet, manufactured by SIG Neuhausen. Includes scabbard and leather frog.
Blade has light pitting. Mild pitting at the tip, and the tip is blunted. Right side grip has light gouging. Pommel has light to mild pitting.
Scabbard has mildly worn finish and light patina.
Leather frog was made by Franzboub of Gstaad (Bern) in 1943.
These bayonets were issued with the Schmidt-Rubin 1889 Infantry Rifle and 1896/11 Infantry Rifle. The serial number indicates that this bayonet would have been issued with an 1889 Infantry Rifle produced in 1892.
