Product Description
Original WWII-era Swiss infantry backpack (tornister). Backpack was made by saddler G. Müller of Altikon in 1944. Altikon is a municipality in Winterthur, Canton Zürich.
Cowhide is in fair to good condition. Leather is in good condition. Shoulder straps are full leather construction. The front pocket has a repaired hole on the bottom left corner. The back, left, and right sides have some areas of missing fur. Belt pad at the rear has wear from friction against the soldier's back and some cracking due to age. Canvas behind front flap has heavy discoloration.
KMV "Privat" stamp on the inside of the main compartment, indicating that this backpack was released from military service for private ownership.
Original soldier's information carved on a leather patch on the upper rear of the backpack.
