Product Description
This M1891/30 Mosin Nagant is Russian manufactured by Izhevsk and has been Finnish-refurbished and upgraded. It is in good condition with 80% original finish. 2/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. All parts have non-matching serial numbers. The muzzle has been counterbored by approximately half an inch and there is light pitting seen throughout the bore. Barrel shank is stamped with Izhevsk manufacturer mark (arrow in triangle), an [SA] stamp indicating "Suomen Armeija" (property of the Finnish Army), manufacturing year of 1942, and the serial number. The caliber was also engraved onto the right side of the receiver by Austrian importer Kettner Waffen. Original cleaning rod is included. Very light pitting present on the receiver. Trigger guard shows heavy wear with multiple dents and gouges.
Finnish refurbishment includes the two-piece "pot belly" stock, "flat" rear sight, and "stacked blade" front sight.
Furniture has medium handling wear, a few rough handling marks, and a couple heavy gouges; gouges can be seen on the handguard as well as behind the tang.
The receiver is an uncommon "highwall" receiver. It is roughly forged and machined; this was manufactured during The Eastern Front / German-Soviet War / Great Patriotic War during World War II, so the Izhevsk arsenal would likely have manufactured these and pressed them into service as quickly as possible.
C&R eligible. Import engraved.
